The Primo and Repertory Orchestras will join the Wind Symphony in the opening performance of the 2012-2013 season. The performance will be held at 4:00 pm at Gar-Field High School.

The Primo and Repertory Orchestras will join the Wind Symphony in the opening performance of the 2012-2013 season. The performance will be held at 4:00 pm at Gar-Field High School.
The Youth Orchestras of Prince William present their top two orchestras – Concert Orchestra and Youth Symphony Orchestra. Experience the delight of Shakespeare's poetry as imagined by Mendelssohn in his Overture to a Midsummer Night's Dream and by Tchaikovsky in his Romeo and Juliet Fantasy. The Youth Symphony Orchestr will also present accalaimed soloist and concert master of the Knoxville Symphony, Gabriel Lofkowitz, in Ravel's virtuosic showpiece Tzigane. The concert begins at 4:00 pm at the Hylton Performing Arts Center.
Glimpseinto the Present
The Youth Orchestras of Prince William will present a world premiere by the critically acclaimed American composer Eric Nathan, in a work written for the Youth Symphony Orchestra. The piece, Glimpse
, will offer a new perspective on the American orchestral sound. Joining the Youth Symphony Orchestra will be the Wind Symphony. Both performances will be tied together by lighting and stage design, centered around color and music.
YOPW presents a concert that highlights the development of string players and includes a special presentation of orchestra and choir. The concert begins with our Preparatory Orchestra which is the beginning level string ensemble and progress through four levels of development which includes the Primo Orchestra, Repertory Orchestra and culminates with the Concert Orchestra. The concert will end with a special joint performance by the Concert Orchestra and the Hylton High School Concert Choir. The concert will begin at 4:00 pm at Hylton High School.
YOPW concludes the 2012-2013 season with performances by all large ensembles. The concert highlights the progress that each ensemble has made throughout the season and the development of the student members. The concert begins with the Preparatory Orchestra and ends with a featured selection from the Youth Symphony Orchestra. YOPW will also host a Silent Auction during the concert event. The concert begins at 4:00 pm at Patriot High School.
